History
Northeast Bible Church (NEBC) began on April 3, 2005, as a plant of North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship, a non-denominational church in Richardson, Texas.
In 2002, elders at North Dallas began thinking about planting an independent Bible church to reach the northeast suburbs of Dallas.
Plans were soon underway with Robert J. Rice in the lead role. Pastor Rice served as an Elder and on the executive staff there for several years. The appointment was one he sensed the Lord calling him to do, so through God’s grace 30 North Dallas families joined Pastor Rice and his wife Sonya in launching the new church plant.
Community Outreach
Our mission is to reach the world for the glory of God. To that end, Northeast Bible Church actively participates in outreach events to serve our community.
For example, we've raised our banner high at the Wylie Christmas Parade and offered our very own version of the Santa Claus experience, “Praying Papa” to patrons of all ages at Garland’s Firewheel Town Center.
We’ve hosted a free concert celebration called “Jazz in the Park” in Allen and participated annually in the MLK Parade and Peace Walk in Plano. Through God’s grace we were able to sponsor a health fair at a local Juneteenth celebration.
We share the love of Christ in a practical way through clothing and food giveaways for the homeless and battered women living in area shelters.
Members & Ministries
From the beginning, Northeast Bible Church has offered a variety of ministries to serve the broad range of diversity in our congregation of varied ethnicities, ages and stations.
In addition to our children’s and youth programs we have an enriching women and men's ministry; and even an emerging singles’ group.
Nearly 40 percent of those who attend Northeast are male – a figure that exceeds the national average. So our “Iron Man” ministry is designed to address the spiritual needs of men in a real way. Pastor Rice, aka Pastor Bob, has no problem using a sports analogy or even humor to better illuminate a scripture when appropriate.
In January 2008, Northeast launched its Growth Groups ministry. Participants gather in small groups in various host homes throughout the area to learn, grow, form and strengthen friendships and encourage one another in their Christian walk.
Feel & Future
The atmosphere at NEBC is friendly, warm and loving. We don’t just extend the ‘right hand of fellowship’ here; we reach out to give newcomers a welcome hug and greet each other with a caring embrace.
We’re a young church, so our exciting Christ-centered journey has only just begun and we invite you to join as the Lord writes new and exciting chapters in the history of Northeast Bible Church.
