Sonya Rice serves as the Assimilation Director of Northeast Bible Church.  She is a charter member and has enjoyed over 25 years of marriage to the founding pastor of NEBC, Robert Rice.  God blessed their union with a lovely daughter named Rayanna. 

Sonya was born in Youngstown, Ohio where she graduated from Rayen High School.  She continued her educational pursuits at Le Tourneau University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.

Sonya’s dedication to Christ Jesus can be clearly seen in the areas of ministry she had committed to over the years.  Her ministry experience includes: teaching children’s Bible classes, she has written and produced Christian plays, conducted Evangelism training, sang in the choir and composed new songs. Sonya pioneered many ministries including: children’s choir, AWANA, Growth Groups, Women’s ministry, and the Agape Society- a high school gospel choir, praise dance team and Christian step team.

Sonya has two brothers and one sister, but spent most of her childhood years with her brother James. 
Living for Christ is Sonya’s passion, an example of this is revealed by what she considers the best part of her day…”the time I spend in devotion to God with the Pastor.”  Her favorite scripture is Luke 1:45, which says “Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!"
